The Hindu Community Center (HCC) of Knoxville has its roots in the late 1970s. Prior to 1978, Hindu religious ceremonies were held in individual homes as needed. In 1978, community members began organizing monthly religious activities on a rotational basis at different homes.

As the community grew, the need for a dedicated space became evident. This led to the establishment of the Hindu Community Center of Knoxville, which is now located at 8580 Hickory Creek Road, Lenoir City, TN 37771.

Today, the HCC serves as a vibrant hub for the local Hindu diaspora, offering a serene environment for spiritual gatherings and cultural events. The center hosts regular religious ceremonies, including the annual Ganesh Sthapna, where devotees gather for evening Ganesh Pujan.

In addition to religious activities, the HCC plays a significant role in promoting Indian culture in the Knoxville area. Events like Indiafest provide an opportunity for the broader community to immerse themselves in Indian traditions, fostering cultural exchange and understanding. (WVLT News)

Through its evolution from intimate home gatherings to a dedicated community center, the HCC of Knoxville continues to be a cornerstone for cultural and spiritual enrichment in the region.
